BREED SHOW at Miller- Ranch 2021
BREED SHOW at Miller- Ranch 2021
From October 8th to 10th, 2021 the breeding stock and offspring were examined, measured, checked and judged in conformation, gait, temperament and learning ability. In the Horsemanship the rideability and the learning skills of the horse are evaluated
The breed director, Britta Schielke, and the president of the EMFTHA, Karl-Heinz Schilling, came from Europe. Two recognized professional breed judges came from the USA, Karen Graddy, Vice President of the MFTHBA from Missouri and Julie Moore from California. Also the President of the MFTHBA ,Mark Mackie, had made the trip from Missouri to attend this breed show as an observer.
17 Missouri Fox Trotters were shown in total at the Miller- Ranch.
1) 10 Offspring: Weanlings, 1 and -2 year old young horses, were evaluated and given scores.
2) 3 breeding stallions were presented ( all had passed the Breeding Suitability Test):
Legend’s Outlaw M.R. made up for his gait check that could not be done at the 2018 Breed Show due to an injury. He got the highest score and is now in the European Stud Book Stallions Class I.
Arizona Outlaw`s McLaren M.R., the Miller Ranch`s up-and-coming stallion, received very high marks in all evaluations and is also in the European Stud Book Stallions Class I.
Nabucco’s King of the Road M.R. a young stallion, for the time being, he will be entered in Stud Book II. He will make up for the missing evaluations in the next Breed Show. He is a very talented horse.
3) 4 broodmares were presented ( all had passed the Breeding Suitability Test):
Frank’s Suekey was only presented in hand at the 2018 Breed Show, because she was pregnant. She has now shown the check under saddle, she got excellent scores as expected and is now included in the European Stud Book Mares Class I.
Arizona Outlaw’s Kachina M.R. and Yankee’s American Honey are also included in the European Stud Book Mares Class I because of the scores they achieved.
The young mare Arizona Outlaw’s Antonia M.R. was presented at some tests only on hand. So for the time being she will be entered in the European Stud Book Mares Class II with excellent scores. At the next Breed Show she will then be shown under saddle in order to be entered in Stud Book I.
Even if in the total score, a good result, leads to the entry in the European Stud Book, it is important for a successful breeding and for every breeder and very informative, how the scores are in the single sections ( Conformation, Gaits, on hand, under saddle, in Horsemanship, on the Composure Test). These evaluations help in the breeding matching, to balance the weak points specifically with the strengths of a breeding part, in order to achieve even better breeding results.
The Miller-Ranch would like to thank the three expert judges for their evaluation expertise. They took their task very seriously and carefully and applied high standards in the evaluation.
For all future buyers and breeders interesting, the results of recognized Breed Shows according to the Principles of the Breed will be entered in the future on the back of the registration papers by the MFTHBA from the Office in Ava.
