The Beginning – Missouri Foxtrotters in the Arizona Wilderness

In 1992, Lothar Rowe and Andreas Müller founded Miller Ranch on just 10 acres in what was then the rustic heart of Scottsdale. From the very beginning, the focus was on the Missouri Foxtrotter – a breed known for its smooth gait, calm temperament, and incredible stamina. Riding through the Sonoran Desert on one of these horses isn’t just a ride – it’s a memory that stays with you.

The video features rare original footage from those early years, now set to new music, giving you a glimpse of a time when Scottsdale still looked like a true Western town.

Bridging Continents – Missouri Foxtrotters Go Global

Thanks to close connections with horse lovers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, many of Miller Ranch’s early Missouri Foxtrotters found homes in Europe. One of the standout stars in the video is “Sun’s Evening Shade B,” a striking black-and-white stallion who was one of the very first Missouri Foxtrotters to stand in Europe. He sired 17 foals and helped shape the future of the breed overseas.
