On Wednesday, May 28, 2022 Mo.Travis passed away at the age of 28 and went over the Rainbow Bridge.
Without illness, without pain. 4 years ago he took over the supervision of the foal herd. He is gone after a full life. We at the Miller-Ranch have a deep gratitude to him, he made a lot of friends for the Fox Trotter. He was an exceptional horse, a trail horse, a leader. Mo Travis always knew exactly where he was and where the trail went in rough terrain.
Some friends had the opportunity to meet him on trail rides, some even rode him themselves.
Pictures of him have been published on the front page of several magazines.
The description from 2009
A direct son of “Missouri Traveler”, very pretty, very flashy with a perfect conformation. Powerful, with a natural foxtrot, a natural flying lead change, nothing scares or bothers him. He is a surefooted trail horse, leading the group in the mountains, an endurance horse too. He had the potential for a super show horse, also to place in model classes. But there was never time for the shows, because he is always busy, guiding the trails and teaching the newcomer trail horses to do their job.
A luxury gelding- a dream of a trail horse – he is noble, a real Sir. He was leading the group in the Grand Canyon from the North to the South Rim. He was lately on a 7-days Monument Valley Trail. He has become more and more a real leader, an outstanding trail horse, a horse, unique for any trail-endurance and pleasure rider, but he has no understanding for timid riders or beginners.
