Barolo Leaves the Miller-Ranch – A Missouri Fox Trotter Begins a New Chapter in Colorado
We bid farewell to a truly special horse: Barolo, an exceptional Missouri Fox Trotter bred and trained at the Miller-Ranch, will leave us at the end of May to begin a new adventure in Colorado. His new owner, Mark, is eagerly awaiting the arrival of this remarkable partner who combines talent, trust, and a calm, reliable nature.
Born on March 13, 2016, Barolo carries the prestigious bloodlines of the Missouri Fox Trotter breed. His sire, the legendary GMC Black Velvet, was crowned World Grand Champion in 1992 and went on to dominate the European show scene for several years. Barolo’s dam, Arizona Outlaw’s Margarita M.R., impressed at the Missouri Fox Trotter Show in Ava in 2014, earning second place in the four-year-old open class.
Barolo successfully completed his training at the Miller-Ranch, where he proved to be an outstanding trail horse. Like any true Missouri Fox Trotter, he demonstrates a smooth, natural gait, sure-footedness, and a calm mindset. He is confident in mountainous terrain, on long rides, and performs equally well as a lead horse or in the middle of the group. With his steady temperament, he is loved by experienced riders and appreciated by beginners alike.
Although Barolo has not yet competed in shows, he embodies everything that makes the Missouri Fox Trotter so unique: versatility, intelligence, and rideability. With his friendly personality, reliable nature, and elegant movement, Barolo stands out on every trail.
We are proud to have had Barolo as part of our journey, and we wish him and Mark countless memorable rides in the beautiful landscapes of Colorado. Missouri Fox Trotters like Barolo are true ambassadors of our philosophy – naturally gaited, dependable, and full of heart.
